Palace on Wheels is a musicians collective based in Sweden playing North Indian classical music, early Bollywood tunes, indian folk styles and other types of raga based music in a jugalbandi-format with traditional indian instruments like sitar, santoor, rabab, surbahar and tabla.
The music is based on improvisation within the frames of the Indian Classical Music and moves from deeply devoted aalap to playful tunes and breathtaking duells. Palace on Wheels often collaborates with other musicians and guest artists within both raga based music and other music genres as well as other art forms such as dance, visual arts and theatre.
